David and Robert Cox founded Cox Construction Inc. in 1981 after 5 years of masonry and concrete work.  The company grew rapidly over the next few years and one of their loyal customers requested that Cox Construction relocate to Knoxville, TN to service them there.  Cox Construction inc relocated in 1988 and began working out the basement of their homes.  The company continually grew over the years and were able to find a permanent location in 2004.  Their partnership helped open doors for their sons and daughters to enter the business alongside them. Through the years and at one time or another, each of their kids have been involved in some capacity to grow the company.  As of 2022, Cox General Contracting is operating with David and Robert at the helm with their son’s; Jason, Shane, Ross, and Logan.

Cox General Contractors specializes in commercial, industrial and multi-family projects. They thrive on being versatile and responsive company with a focus on customer service and quality.
